EconoFil™ PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) is the perfect balance of strength, flexibility, and printability—offering a reliable alternative to PLA and ABS for more demanding applications. Engineered for consistent performance and smooth results, EconoFil™ PETG is ideal for functional parts, mechanical components, and everyday prints that need to go the distance.

Stronger than PLA and more flexible than ABS, PETG delivers impact resistance, excellent layer adhesion, and low shrinkage—making it great for large prints and precise, durable results.

✅ Tough and flexible with high impact strength
✅ Excellent layer bonding and minimal warping
✅ High gloss and great light transmission (in translucent colors)
✅ BPA-free, low-odor, and food-safe*
✅ Spooled on 100% recycled cardboard

EconoFil™ PETG prints easily across a wide temperature range and performs well even on standard desktop 3D printers. With chemical resistance and high heat tolerance, it's a dependable choice for both professional and hobbyist use.

EconoFil™ Standard PETG Filament - Print Settings: 200°C - 240°C
  • You can also experiment between 200°C - 240°C until ideal print quality is achieved.
  • Set your print bed temperature to approximately 75-85°C (hotter for the first few layers if possible). If further bed adhesion is requires, keep increasing the bed temp by 5°C until it improves.
  • PETG doesn’t need to be squeezed onto your heated bed, you want to leave a slightly larger gap on the Z axis to allow more room for the plastic to lay down. If the extruder nozzle is too close to the bed, or previous layer it will skim and create stringing and build-up around your nozzle. We recommend starting off moving your nozzle away from the bed in 0.02mm increments, until there is no skimming when printing.
  • Print on glass with glue stick or you favourite printing surface.
  • Best practice before printing any PETG material is to dry it before using (even if new), dry at 65°C for at least 4 hours. If possible, dry for 6-12 hours. Dried PETG should last for about 1-2 weeks before needing to redry.
  • If print is too stringy, also try under-extruding a bit. PETG can be sensitive to over extrusion (blobbing etc.) – if you’re experience this, just bring in the extrusion setting on the slicer ever-so-slightly each time until it stops.
  • No raft. (if the print bed is not heated, consider using brim instead, 5 or more mm wide.)
  • 60-100mm/s print speed
  • 5 stars: 16 (76%)
  • 4 stars: 3 (14%)
  • 3 stars: 2 (10%)
  • 2 stars: 0 (0%)
  • 1 star: 0 (0%)

Excellent PETG filament. After drying it thoroughly at 150 deg F for six hours, it prints beautifully.

I have been printing with your PETG for years and find it produces consistent surface finishes and has been an affordable and reliable filament. Will continue to use this as one of my go to filaments. I wish that your selection of colors was a little larger. Earth tone filaments like Tan, Sand, Flat Dark Earth, something like that would be great!

Filament is beautiful!! The black is smooth and prints like a dream!! Works even better coming out of a filament dryer. I dry all my filament before printing.

Love the customer service and ease of purchase. The filament is pretty good but my only complaint is it came really most right out of the box and it absorbs moisture faster than any filament I've used. But after drying it works well.

I never have any trouble with Filaments PETG. Right out of the box, no stringing, no problems. And the price is unbeatable.

Had to dry the Filiment as the first print was extremely oozy and making poping sounds. Once I dried it for 10 Hours it printed very well.

Great filament from filaments.ca

I haven't run PETG before, so I can't be too specific about it. It seems to be running well.

A couple of years ago the "standard" PETG I got from filaments.ca had a matte texture on the roll (it still printed shiny). That filament wouldn't stick to the build plate without a fresh application of glue stick, and really slow first layer.
I was very pleased to see the shiny surface finish on this roll, it matched the Econofil PETG I'd bought in years past. Sure enough this stuff sticks down really well, and doesn't ooze much when the nozzle is up to temperature.

Delivery was fast. Price was great

On sale at 14.95/kg this is an excellent value for the price.

Make sure to follow the temperature settings recommended on the box as some printer presets for petg will make this stuff goopy/warp.

Not recommended for open printers if your room is not aggressively climate controlled. I have had minor warping issues on larger prints.

Otherwise, once dialed in this stuff gives above average prints for a below average cost.

This is excellent PETG however I'm disappointed to see the plastic reels in use again, rather than cardboard. Cardboard makes disposal of the empty reels so much easier, I'd love to see them make a return.

This is a good filament, as long as you make sure to dry it thoroughly (like any PETG).
